Sunflower County, Mississippi, has been my home for most of life. I graduated from North Sunflower Academy in 1974, attended the University of Mississippi, and completed my B. S. degree in Pharmacy at Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 1980. I have owned two independent retail pharmacies - Gilbow’s Drug Store in Drew and GNP Pharmacy in Belzoni – and briefly practiced in several chain pharmacies. After selling both retail pharmacies, I am currently the Director of Pharmacy at North Sunflower Medical Center, where I have overseen both the retail and hospital pharmacies for 11 years. More recently, I serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students at the University of Mississippi, William Carey, and McWhorter Schools of Pharmacy.
My wife, Erin Gilbow, and I live in Indianola. We are active members of Indianola First United Methodist Church. Our three children, Reed Gilbow, M.D., Liz Thomas, Pharm. D., and Lesley Moore, BSN, are all health care professionals and have given us seven grandchildren.

Tony and his wife, Tracy, live in Prentiss. Together, they enjoy leading short-term medical and construction teams to Honduras and Guatemala. Tony is looking forward to being of service to the citizens and pharmacists of Mississippi as a Board member.

I have been a retail pharmacist for 29 years. Currently, I own three independent pharmacies and one clinic which include Howell & Heggie Drug Co. in Durant (where I grew up), Quick Care Pharmacy and Clinic in Grenada and Sullivan’s Drugs and Gifts in Kosciusko, which my father-in-law, Ronnie Sullivan, opened in 1968. I received my B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Mississippi in 1993. I served a previous term on the Board of Pharmacy from 2008-2013. I am also a charter board member of the Mississippi Independent Pharmacies Association. I would say that my priorities are faith, family, and pharmacy. It has been my honor to serve on the board of Complete in Christ ministries since its conception in 2003. A great joy of mine has been serving with my sons on mission trips to the Dominican Republic where we conduct baseball camps as a means of sharing the Gospel. My wife, Christy, and I have been married for thirty-one years and have lived in Kosciusko for the last twenty-seven of those years. We have four children, Ben and his wife Riley, Sam, Wes, and Kate.
