New Continuing Education Requirements for 2019

The following regulation was amended and became effective July 30, 2018:

​​​ARTICLE IV LICENSE RENEWAL​ AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

    i. Fifteen (15) hours of continuing education is required for each licensure period.

    ii. At least five (5) hours of the continuing education received each year must be related to opioid abuse and preven​tion or some other drug of abuse or addiction related issue.

    iii. At least two (2) hours of the continuing education received each year must be obtained via a live seminar. Live webcasts are valid for this requirement​​​

This amendment increases the number of required annual continuing education hours from 10 to 15 and requires five of those hours to be related to opioid abuse or other addiction related issues. At least two hours of CE must be live CE. The enforcement of this regulation began this year. All pharmacists are required to obtain the increased CE during the 2019 calendar year.
